Maison Graham
Hackney, London, United Kingdom

Project Duration :
6 months
Area :
3,000 sqft
Type:
Residential Development Project
Concept:
A development done differently. A home designed to be lived in, not just admired.
Maison Graham sits in the heart of East London — a generous, light-filled property in Hackney, moments from the pulse of the city. When Maison London brought us on board, the brief wasn't simply to dress a development. It was to reimagine what a London family home could feel like from the inside out.
We designed for a specific kind of person — high-performing, culturally curious. Someone who wanted warmth without heaviness, richness without ostentation, and a home that could hold their life beautifully while still leaving room for their own mark.
The house rewards you from the moment you arrive. Custom arched bronze double doors open into a bright, airy entrance — and at the far end, the study stops you in your tracks. Drenched in deep chocolate, it draws the eye down the full length of the hallway, creating a sense of intrigue before you've even explored a room. Volume and light define every floor. Rich burgundy and chocolate appear as accents throughout — grounding the palette without overwhelming it — while the rest of the home remains luminous, generous, and alive.
Every material decision was made with the future family in mind. Every detail layered with intention.

Key Features:
The Entrance & Sense of Arrival — Custom arched bronze double doors open into a light-filled hallway, with the chocolate-drenched study anchoring the far end — a masterstroke of visual direction that pulls you through the home.
The Study — Fully colour-drenched in deep chocolate. A bold counterpoint to the brightness of the rest of the house, and one of its most quietly dramatic moments.
The Kitchen — Buttery cream cabinetry paired with an oxblood island, violet porcelain countertops and backsplash, and an integrated banquette dining area. A kitchen designed for families who cook, entertain, and gather.
Flooring — Blonde oak herringbone throughout all principal floors, Versailles-pattern porcelain in the basement for warmth and heritage character, and knotted wool carpet in the bedrooms for comfort underfoot.
The Rear Reception — A burgundy Zellige tiled chimney breast with electric fireplace creates an instant focal point and anchors the room with colour and texture.
The Powder Room — Jewel-toned burgundy Zellige from floor to ceiling. Small in scale, enormous in impact.
The Bathrooms — Clean and minimal with Rosso Levanto porcelain accents in the shower and bath zones for a considered pop of warmth. The loft en suite takes a more playful turn with large-scale terrazzo flooring.
The Cinema Room — Fully colour-drenched in burgundy for a theatrical, immersive feel. The boldest room in the house, and deliberately so.
The Principal Bedroom — Custom built-in wardrobes with integrated LED lighting. Storage designed to disappear.
The Loft Bedroom — Custom joinery designed to work within the eaves, maximising every inch of the space.
The Secondary Bedrooms — Styled to show possibility: one as a beautifully considered twin room for children, one as a serene guest retreat.
Decorative Detail — Wall panelling, heritage cornicing, custom internal doors with minimal profile, and warm wood detailing on stair railings throughout. Craftsmanship visible at every turn.
Lighting & Paint — Curated from Lights & Lamps and Coat Paints respectively — two of London's most considered design suppliers.
