A home doesn't reveal itself all at once. Sometimes it asks to be discovered slowly — and The Hill House was no different.
Perched above the Bedfordshire countryside with uninterrupted views and sunsets that stop you mid-sentence, this was always a home with something to say. Our client arrived shortly after moving in — standing in her first home, surrounded by possibility, looking out at a sky that changed colour every evening. The setting was extraordinary. The interior just needed to catch up.
Over two years we worked with intention rather than urgency. The brief evolved from modern industrial country house to something closer to a boutique hotel — layered, serene, and quietly glamorous. Nordic restraint met Mediterranean warmth, and from that tension came a home that feels both grounded and elevated. Neutral palettes deepened by black accents. Limewash beside texture. A space as considered as the view it frames.

Material palette — A considered layering of travertine, Calacatta Monet marble, limewash plaster, and curated textured wallcoverings. Each room treated independently, each material chosen with intention.
The Beauty Room — The crown jewel of the project. Fully clad in travertine and Calacatta Monet marble, this room was designed around its owner's craft — a bespoke hair tool drawer, beauty mini fridge, perfume stand, custom shower screen, mirror, and beauty cupboard. Every detail resolved.
Mediterranean Garden — A full outdoor transformation featuring a sunken firepit, architectural planting, and botanicals imported directly from Italy. A private escape that extends the home's story outdoors.
Bespoke Artwork — Commissioned pieces woven throughout, ensuring the home feels singular rather than styled.
Enhance, don't replace — Where the bones of the home were strong, we worked with them. Considered interventions over wholesale change.
